Dear NKHN and Show Participants:

We are pleased to be able to host the NKHN 12 Annual All-Breed Show on Saturday, July 25 at the Alexandria Fairgrounds beginning at 9:30. We know everyone wants to get out there and show their horses and we are eager to provide you with a venue. However, this is a challenging time for everyone and you will notice some changes in our show in order to account for the current situation. Please note the following:

1. COVID GUIDLINE COMPLIANCE: We will conduct the show in accordance with the Kentucky guidelines for Horse Shows, please reference the Kentucky Horse Council site for those guidelines: Kentucky Horse Council - COVID-19 GUIDELINES. We may need to evolve the show depending upon how the guidelines change between now and our show date.

More information:  Kentucky Horse Council - COVID-19 GUIDELINES

2. PRE-ENTRY/REGISTRATION: While you will be able to enter/make entry changes at the show, we are strongly encouraging pre-entries through the attached format. Please complete the document and email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Payment will be accepted at the show. We are trying to limit the number of folks at the registration booth during show day. These forms will also be available on the website at

3. STALL AND CAMPSITE RESERVATIONS: Please reach out to Jim Mayer at 859-496-4976 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for stall reservations and camping reservations.

4. LIABILITY WAIVER: All participants will be required to sign the liability waiver in the attached format

5. KEY CHANGES: Some of the key changes you will notice:

-Upon arrival at the fair grounds, in addition to having your Coggins papers ready for your horse(s), temperatures will be taken for all people and liability waivers will be handled at entry
-There will be some spacing required between stall reservations, please know that this is to accommodate appropriate social distancing requirements
-The use of face masks is required, except when riding or driving or showing a horse. Please bring your own masks.
-General spectators will not be admitted to the show
-All participants are expected to maintain appropriate social distancing
-There will not be a farrier on-site

6. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We are working hard to be able to put on the show and comply with requirements. We still need volunteers to help in certain areas. The volunteer list is attached, if you have time to help NKHN out in putting on a good, safe show, please let us know. We could sure use the help. For those who would like to help, but are concerned about being around alot of other folks, we will be having a clean-up night at the fairgrounds on the Thursday night before the show at 6pm and we will be cleaning up the fairgrounds on Sunday morning after the show. There will be a very limited crowd during those two times.

7. OTHER: We are still investigating how to handle food onsite. More information to come in that regard.

We are excited to see all of you (and your horses) and host a good, safe show. We appreciate, in advance, your assistance in helping us comply with the Kentucky requirements. We will provide more communication as we get closer to show time.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Charlie Poppe at 513-315-7143 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with questions.

All the Best,

Your NKHN Board and NKHN Horse Show Committee
